Nottingham Islamia School's beleif is that it is important to nurture strong Iman and faith early in life and provide children with an Islamic identity through the learning of the Quran. The school which also includes a nursery work towards the national curriculum requirements but also include time within the teaching periods where surahs (verses) from the Quran are taught and learnt. The school beleives that it is important to gain a clear understanding of Islamic moral and spiritual teachings as set out by the blessed Messenger (SAW) and to develop good character that is generous, caring, patient and loving. The school itself was very colourful with many displays which included national curriculum topics, for example there was a display board showing why bullying must not be tolerated and on the poster there was the Islamic viewpoint on why we should not hurt others. The Nottingham Islamia school is not Government funded which means that it is Independent and parents have to pay fees, admissions are based on assessment and the school is of mixed gender.

Things to do, things not to do
Try to experience a few days within a faith school if possible as it is a real eye opener in a positive way. Although I myself am a Muslim I learnt so much about Islam which strengthened my faith greatly.
The school office number is as above and will put you through to the school receptionist who deals with all enquiries.
