Placement Information

This setting was based in a town called Ra'anana in Israel. The placement was a kindergarten for the ages of 0-3 yrs. This setting would be a great choice for someone to work in as there are a series of different cultures there and some of the children speak English too. It is a great way of mixing with other cultures and learning how they can work peacefully together. It is a great insight to see how this country works differently to the UK. It is very laid back and allows the children to play freely and have an extended childhood.

Accomodation

Please outline different accommodation options. Identify any hotels or hostels you would recommend, and also any information about sources of the latter e.g. local newspapers, student notice-boards and accommodation offices. General guidelines about the quality, location and price of accommodation would also be useful.

Personally I would recommend someone to stay with friends or family, if this isn't a possible option then there are an assortment of hotels/ hostels you can stay in.

http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/israel/?&gclid=CITNxYmalq8CFYEKfAodAito1Q This website is a good one and I would advise people to use it. If this doesn't help just type into google, cheap hostels in Israel and many helpful websites will come up.

Transport

The number 48 bus was my saviour, it stopped right outside where I was staying and stopped right outside my placement. This route starts from Tel aviv and the last stop is outside the kindergarten. I would advise anyone to use this. It is about £2.50 return everyday. The transport in Israel in general is really easy to use and cheap too. You can travel on a bus from the north all the way to the south.

Social life

Please discuss the range of social opportunities your destination has to offer. As well as the best bars and nightclubs, you could comment on the quality of the museums and art galleries or the local countryside. Also, mention any clubs or societies you might have joined. Remember again the importance of being positive! You could also outline the types of strategies you have used to meet people and make friends.

There is so much to do in Israel. You will never be bored! There is a beach in every city, and there are the best clubs around. Tel aviv is a city that never sleeps, this is where all the tourist go clubbing and to bars it also has the best restaurants here too.

http://www.thinkisrael.com/Tourism_Euk/?target=search&gclid=CLaB_OWblq8CFUkMtAodjlefyQ Use this website for travel information, there are beautiful places to visit in Israel and if this is your first visit I would highly recommend you to travel the country.

Some pictures have been added below, to give you an insight of Israel.

Things to do, things not to do

You should go and do a lot of sight seeing and go relax on the beaches. Also try all the Israeli foods, such as israeli salads, falafels and shwarmas, they are the best!! Also take a visit to the cafe called 'AROMA' it does the best sandwiches, salads and ice coffee's.

Things not to do, well there are a lot of safety restrictions in Israel if you want to go and visit the west bank, then do, but be careful.

There is a lot of security in Israel but its best to be safe than sorry.
