Forest Fields Primary School is a popular school as it is based in area which is very diverse and multicultural. They have a large proportion of children who are from minority ethnic groups where 32 other languages are spoken other than English. 2/3 of the children are EAL when they begin at the Early Years Foundation Stage. There is also a ‘well-above-average’ children who have special educational needs or disabilities of which most are moderate learning difficulties or behavioural issues.The school has achieved the Healthy Schools Gold Award, the International Schools Award and the Eco Bronze Award. It works in partnership with ten primary schools, one infant, one junior, one nursery and three secondary schools.

The quicker and more reliable way to travel to the placement if living in the city will be to travel on the tram. The trams in the city are based at Station street, Lace Market, Market Square, Royal Centre and Nottingham Trent University.  There are at the moment two different stations which the tram takes you to from the city, these are the Hucknall line and the Phoenix Park. To get to the setting you are able to travel on any of these lines and you can either get off at the Noel Street stop or the Beaconsfield stop as the school is based in the middle of these two. When you get off the tram the placement is only a 5 minute walk.

 

To get to the placement from the city:

 

Get off at Noel Street stop – walk up the road towards Berridge Rd – Take a right and walk forward until you reach Bradgate road you will see the school -Walk up Bradgate road and you will see the entrance to the school on the right hand side.

 

Get off at Beaconsfield Street stop – Walk down  the road towards Berridge Rd – Take a left and walk forward until you reach Bradgate road you will see the school - Walk up Brad gate road and you will see the entrance to the school on the right hand side.

 

To get back into the city:

 

Walk back towards Noel Street tram stop – Keep walking further until you reach The Forest tram stop – Get the tram which goes towards Station Street to go back into the city.
